About Chaffee County EMS.
Chaffee County Emergency Medical Services (CCEMS) provides emergent and non-emergent ambulance service for the citizens and visitors of Chaffee County. CCEMS currently has five ambulances that are all licensed for advanced life support. CCEMS utilizes EMT-Basics, EMT-Intermediates and EMT-Paramedics to staff two full-time, Advanced Life Support ambulances 24 hours a day,365 days a year.
In addition to 911 response, CCEMS provides inter-facility transport services between points of definitive care.
How do I get an ambulance in an emergency?
DIAL 911 - Chaffee County EMS is dispatched by the Chaffee County Sheriff's Department utilizing the Enhanced 911 system. With this technology, the 911 system can identify the location of the caller, even if the caller is unable to speak. The location of a caller on a cell phone can not be detected through the 911 system and the caller must remain on the phone until EMS arrives. If 911 is dialed from a cell phone and fails to go through, 539-2596 should be dialed instead.

How do I obtain an ambulance for a special event?
Chaffee County EMS does provide dedicated ambulance standby service for a fee. Please contact the Chaffee County EMS administrative office at (719) 539-1914.
