Planning Commision & Pending Land Use Applications

Chaffee County Planning Commission

The Planning Commission consists of nine members, selected and appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, serving three year terms. The Planning Commission reviews land use applications for compliance with County regulations and makes recommendations on those applications to the Board of Commissioners.  The Planning Commission is also charged with the responsibility of reviewing and updating the County Comprehensive Plan and works with staff to develop policies and make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on regulation and policy changes. Planning Commission members are: Mike Allen, Chair, Vice-Chair, Dan McCabe, Bruce Cogan, Bill Baker, Marjo Curgus, Joe Stone, David Kelly, Anderson Horne and Hank Held.

Regular meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the agenda.  Work Sessions vary in beginning time but will be noted on the agenda.  Please see agendas for meeting places.  Agendas are also posted on the Home Page

Please note that it is inappropriate to personally contact individual County Commissioners or Planning Commission members while an application is pending.  Such contact is considered ex parte communication and will have to be disclosed as part of the public hearing on the matter.  If you have any concerns, you should contact staff, write a letter or present your concerns at the public meeting so you comments can be made part of the record.

All meetings will be heard in the Commissioners Meeting Room, 104 Crestone Ave., Salida, unless other wise posted.
